The public on various social media platforms is curious to know what exactly happened. Recently as per new reports, the man has been identified as Wilfredo Gonzales, a retired policeman living in Quezon City, Philippines. So, without further adieu let’s dive into the story and find out what the fuss is all about. Keep scrolling. 

As stated above, the man in the viral video is revealed to be Wilfredo Gonzales. The retired policeman threatened an unarmed cyclist with a gun over a road rage altercation. This made him receive global attention, giving birth to many viral posts and memes.


The video was shot by a bystander and later uploaded on social media. This resulted in public outrage and debate over the behaviour of humans towards another human being.

The infamous incident happened on 26th August 2023 on Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City. Mark Anthony Balagtas, the cyclist in the video stated that he was riding on a bike when all of a sudden Gonzales cut him off with a gun and started abusing him. 


In the video you can clearly see, Mark is trying to avoid the fight but Gonzales keeps on pointing a gun to his face, provoking him. 

As the video went viral, Gonzales surrendered to police authority on 27th August where his license to possess weapons was revoked. Additionally, on 28th August, his driving license was also revoked. The incident gave birth to many snippets of viral videos and internet slang with a Filpino sense of humour.
